Our ladies' meeting on the 22nd combined our usual book reading and discussion with a flurry of activity in the kitchen, making pancakes and rehearsing a song Lena had written. All this for the men in the church on the occasion of 23rd February - Soviet Army Day or Defender of the Realm Day... which has basically become Men's Day.
The following day after the meeting the song was duly performed and the pancakes consumed and enjoyed by all, along with cups of tea and copious amounts of icecream.
The 8th of March is International Women's Day. Sergey decided to cook a meal for our ladies' meeting...
...and we each received a rose the following day.
